Perspective

We often wonder what it’d be like to step into someone else’s shoes. Sometimes it’s because we may want something the other person may have. Then again, it could be pure curiosity. In the midst of wondering, we develop our own idea of what those shoes may feel like. We start to believe that we may understand their perspective. But… we dont.

Not really. We have our own self-perception of what it must be like. I’ve come to realize that until you actually step into those shoes, for real, you have no idea. No matter how hard you try to understand that perspective, it’s not possible. To comprehend and to understand are two totally different things.

However, in either perspective, the one important trait to have is the ability for respect. To have true respect for that point of view is maybe the most important thing to have. The second most important trait is to do your best to appreciate all the great things you have in your life and know that someone out there may not be so lucky.

Life can be good. Life can be cruel. Life just is.
